Georgetown University’s
career pages – a mainstay of DCPA+CJ – has been suffering from technical difficulties for a few days – and, while they seem back in limited operation, this perhaps-related to Georgetown Law opportunity does not appear listed, so we’ll bring it to you in its entirety:

The Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center is seeking an Interim Director to grow a regional juvenile defender resource center. The Interim Director will collaborate with the National Juvenile Defender Center to develop & expand reach of the regional center. The Interim Director will meet with experts, draft grant proposals, engage in dedicated juvenile defense reform in three states, DC, and Puerto Rico, and will connect juvenile defenders in the region. The Interim Director will work closely with Board of Directors to generate income for new projects for Center and for a permanent Director position. The Interim position will begin as a volunteer position for recent law school grad seeking professional experience, or an experienced attorney returning to the work-force or in a transition phase. Interim Director will be compensated for work on projects for which funding is secured during his/her employment with the Center, and will be eligible to apply for Director position when posted.

Duties: The Interim Director will focus on developing proposals and projects for the region, grant writing, and maintaining a web site for the Center. The Interim Director will collaborate with members of the Regional Center to develop web based resources for regional defenders and collaborate with Board members on projects including regional and local trainings, a mentoring program for juvenile defenders, and an expert advice hotline for solo practitioners. The Interim Director will have access to office space at the National Juvenile Defender Center offices in Washington DC, and will have assistance from experienced senior level attorneys on projects, grant proposals, and resource development.
