Curb Your Enthusiasm

None of the usual nonsense and fun we usually try to deliver on Friday – no particular reason; just didn't have it today. Higher-than-usual Maryland/Baltimore tilt is unintentional, as well. Frankly, Jobstoberfest is off to a plodding and Redskins-esque start, but we'll rectify that on Monday.

The International Emissions Trading Association is looking for a Senior US Policy Advisor - Hill or Executive branch experience involving climate change is, quite sensibly, termed a must for the position.

Lutheran World Relief – Baltimore, MD:
Washington Hospital Center Grants & Communications Associate – One to three years of job related experience in a fundraising or communications office environment desired.

Brookings Institution
:
The Capitol Area Foodbank wants to see what kind of skills you bring to the table as Advocacy Director; advanced degree in public policy or nutrition, as well as a five+ years management experience in a not-for-profit environment would be a good start. And, their peers in the Feeding America network have a lot of opportunities in various disciplines in their Chicago headquarters and around the country.

Newly posted (or updated) opportunities with the World Wildlife Fund:
Local Initiatives Support Corporation is a national non-profit organization that assists community development corporations. They are looking for an Executive Director for their Virginia-based operations, likely located in Richmond.

We think start-up operation Republican Women Reach Out has a particularly good-natured and flexible approach to recruiting Interns – and we suspect it will generate some good-natured and flexible candidates for them (meaning: you).

Advocates for Children & Youth – Baltimore, MD:
The foster care advocates/experts at Casey Family Programs are seeking an Administrative Assistant for the DC public policy office.

Hey, look – we found a pair of arts-related communications opportunities (and a couple admin postings) with the University of Maryland:
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Government Affairs Analyst for their Aerospace Systems division. Legislative tracking and government budget analysis are among job duties.

Hilton Hotels
asks for experience at an advertising agency / PR firm or in a marketing role within an organization for these positions (search using job ID):
Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a Director of Communications (use req ID 0900010859) for their St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Towson, MD. Successful candidate will possess the requisite smarts and savvy for the position – along with a healthy measure of reverence, integrity, compassion and all that fine stuff.

Alcatel-LucentPublic Affairs Admin Assistant (search job # 09000004MX) – typically requires 2 - 4 years related experience with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Before you get too excited, please note that we could not confirm this probably-great Communications Specialist/Speechwriter opportunity with the Baltimore Museum of Art on their careers page.
