Here’s a trio of recent (oldest dates to May 11) opportunities with the American Association of Medical Colleges:
The Aberdeen Test Center is located on more than 56,707 acres of land and water at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, in Harford County, MD. As a Department of Defense major range and test facility, ATC tests a wide range of military weapons systems, equipment, and materiel. Accordingly, you probably get to see a lot of cool stuff explode and get wrecked if you’re an External Affairs Officer for the Army Test and Evaluation Command. And they’ll even pay you! $64k-$99k! This is truly a great country. Job ID NEAG09514299D, apply by June 8.

The Center for Independent Media seeks a high energy individual for the position of Outreach Manager to ensure the Center’s reporting has maximum impact on public debate and advances the common good. We’ll do our part with a link to their DC outpost, the Washington Independent.

Social Enterprise: Hype or Reality? Probably hype – but maybe you can prove us wrong if you qualify as Information Strategy Intern with the Social Enterprise Alliance. A caveat – they may have already received plenty of resumes for this “available starting May 2009” opportunity.

Here’s one we missed for Saturday’s buzzword-heavy diversion: Director of Social Media for the Middle East Broadcasting Networks. Here’s a sampling from their job description: presence, conceptualization, multi-media, exciting and challenging, results oriented, New Media, internetFacebook, Twitter, YouTube, strategic initiatives …… and we could go on – that’s all in about the first third of the ad. Enjoy.

The Hampton Roads Military & Federal Facilities Alliance is a non-profit serving the interests of the Hampton Roads region in protecting, sustaining, and growing military and federal capabilities through advocacy and influence with the Virginia Congressional delegation. They’ve got a spot in their Norfolk, Va. World Trade Center location for a Government Relations Coordinator, with a $60k-$65k pay grade, to help with the fight.

Live in Springfield or points nearby? Current or recent experience working with members of Congress, congressional staff or government agencies – at least seven years worth? Hate the daily slog up 395 and the parking tab at your K Street garage? Director, Government & Industry Relations with Dean Foods in Springfield may be your thing.

The Barker Foundation – a non-profit with a long and successful record in child placement/adoption, is willing to take their time to find the right Director of Development (scroll down to find) candidate; a Fall 2009 start time is noted.

Turner Government and Public Affairs seeks a Senior-level Lobbyist to contribute to their dynamic growth and unparalleled client success record. They’re looking for someone who is outgoing, energetic, dependable – and able to bring some current clients into the fold.

Allies In Energy is looking for a New Media Marketing and Communications Lead – in particular, that special someone with a passion for online marketing, the heart of a journalist and a strong interest in clean energy.

This may not be a great fit for any of you, but it sounds like such a challenge, we just had to share: Legal Secretarial Services Manager for a large DC-based law firm. This position will manage a staff of 180 secretaries including permanent staff, floaters and temporaries. No, that doesn’t sound hard at all. Via Ascent Executive Search.

Nothing new at the DC outpost of the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation – you’ll have to relocate to Seattle for these recently-posed opportunities – search here, if direct links fail:
The Coordinator of Off-Campus Student Involvement for the University of Maryland directs the university's outreach and advocacy efforts for off-campus and transfer students to secure their engagement in the campus and community. Sounds like a public affairs job to us. $40k-$50k.

Allied Advertising & Public Relations
Entertainment Publicist – media relations, promotions, grassroots campaigns, screenings, stunts, buzz-creation.

Libertarian? Demonstrated Fundraising Experience? Live near Cartersville, GA? Three yes answers mean that you should talk to the folks with Advocates for Self Government about their Development Director position.
