Ernst & Young is seeking a State Relations Director (search DC location or job number WAS00017) with a thorough understanding of state government entities, experience advising/influencing senior-level policy makers/executives, and financial services industry experience.

The Law Dept. of the City of New York is seeking a Washington-based Legal Counsel to assist with coordinating the City’s federal legislative agenda, advocating NYC legal and policy positions and promoting the City’s interests in matters pending before federal executive agencies. Frequent travel to New York is part of the package. Experienced litigators might be interested in their New York-based Attorney opportunity in their Affirmative Litigation division.

Here’s some fresh (posted 6/11) offerings with the Consortium for Ocean Leadership:
Freddie, Fannie and Sallie – we’re all familiar with them hereabouts. But Nellie? – that’s new to us. Anyhow, the Quincy, Mass.-located Nellie Mae Foundation is looking for a Communications Associate (note: pdf link), with the help of the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group. Apply by July 31.

Find the Director of Communications job with an unknown and possibly law/legal community-oriented nonprofit by searching at previous link and selecting DC location and public relations category. Search managed by Vanara. In that category/location combo, you’ll also find:
We've found a couple more reasonably recent and relevant opportunities in the ACLU’s DC and New York offices:
The good news: you’ve got until July 7 to get your application to the HHS/Administration for Children & Families for their Program Analyst (Legislative Affairs) position. The bad news: so does everybody else. Job ID HHS-ACF-2009-0097, $60k-$95k.

You can have a classic federal government job title: Budget Analyst – with the new kid on the block: the Office of Financial Stability. Your own budget prospects may improve thanks to the $86k-$133k pay range. Job ID 09-DO-495DH, apply by June 25.

Ford (as in motor company, not modeling agency) is looking to add a Legislative Administrator to the showroom. Primary duties appear to be in support of VP for Govt. Affairs. Unfortunately, this is a full time temporary position and does not include the Ford full benefit package. We were trying to think of the right GM/Chrysler bankruptcy joke to use here, but everything we came up with just made us sad.

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association seeks an Administrative Assistant to support three lobbyists. Polished, professional, tactful and diplomatic sorts are encouraged to apply.

The National Governors Association has a spot open for a Press Secretary to take on a variety of communications/media-related activities. Salary in high-$60k/low-$70k range noted. Search here if link is not workable.

The National School Boards Association appears to be still in search of a Director, Federal Affairs. They’re also short one Director, Member Services (scroll down).

Get in on the summer fun with the Student Academy of American Academy of Physician Assistants – they’re looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the softball team, partake in the chili cook-off, get some sun at the summer picnic, and more. And show up most every day and work hard, too. Gossips discouraged; whatever happens at the chili cook-off stays at the chili cook-off, we presume.
