Joomla Enthusiasts, Grooming Gurus

We normally wouldn’t again mention a job that was posted in February, and featured by us in March – but the United Nations Foundation is usually pretty good about keeping their job listings page up to date (we’ve mentioned several of their opportunities in the past), so perhaps their Director of Foundation Relations job is still worth pursuing – it sounds like a pretty good gig. Let us know if you hear otherwise.

For their Program Director for Policy Analysis position, the American Association of Community Colleges wants applicants with a master's degree (or better yet, a PhD) and substantial professional experience with federal policy discussions concerning postsecondary education and community colleges. A $100k-$110k pay range is noted.

Regular visitors here have probably cracked this code: we’re always on the lookout for relevant opportunities with the Treasury Department’s Office of Financial Stability. Our latest find is this Congressional/Regulatory/Industry Relations Analyst opening – $86-$133k – job ID: 09-DO-395DH – apply by May 26. And, for anyone with the appropriate financial background, we would guess this Accountant adventure with OFS might score pretty well in the interesting-challenging-worthwhile job categories ($102-$133k – job ID 09-DO-398DH – apply by May 20).

We were intrigued by this New & Social Media Officer job with Harvard University (Cambridge, MA, of course) that popped up on their site May 13, and by May 14 had been annotated: This Requisition is no longer open. Please search again - and is no longer findable through here. Has the job been filled, or was the posting premature? Boston-area types who fancy themselves as new/social media mavens are encouraged to dig further or at least keep their eyes peeled for a future posting.

Mid-May might a little late in the game to score a primo summer internship – but, these Technology Transition Corporation opportunities have only been out there since April 30 (note: all pdf links):
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant, Communications for a broad variety of admin/support functions. Rosslyn location. Can also search here, using job number 10021201.

The Arab American Institute has two opportunities available:
We think this Media Relations Publicist posting with Zcommunications in Bethesda is probably with the same organization as referenced here. We’ll let you sort out the rest.

Fancy yourself as a Joomla Enthusiast/Social Media Strategist? If so, Charity House International – an Annapolis-based NGO that works with orphanages in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Haiti, and Kenya – would like to hear from you. Chantilly- or Poolesville-tethered job seekers take note: telecommuting is acceptable to them.

Baltimore City Community College: Changing Lives … Building Communities – and perhaps hiring you as Coordinator of Campus Events & Community Outreach to help raise their profile. BCCC asks that you have at least 3 years of strategic community outreach and event planning experience, along with strong professional and credible communication skills.

The Agricultural Retailers Association seeks Director of Communications & Marketing for communications and marketing taskings including oversight and production of bi-monthly newsletter and monthly magazine, website updates, news releases, annual reports, and maintaining relations with key media markets.

The gang at the Grooming Lounge claim they’ve taken a tongue-and-cheek style to men’s grooming realizing that guys just want things simple and solution-oriented, and a bit of humor can’t hurt. We can’t disagree with that. They’re looking for a Marketing Intern of the whiz (or aspiring-whiz) sort. Sounds like perhaps a little more fun than the average DC intern gig.

Dream of working in sports-related PR? Friday’s job search nugget is just for you: the Sports PR Blog, which discusses sports-related communications careers and occasionally features posts like this call for a Washington Redskins Community Relations/Charitable Foundation Intern.
